Owner & CEO | Attorney

Mark R Petersen is the founder and owner of Snake River Law and has nearly two decades of legal experience serving individuals and families across Idaho. A lifetime Idaho resident, Mark earned his law degree from the University of Idaho College of Law and began his career in private practice, where he developed a broad legal foundation across multiple areas of law.

In 2009, Mark founded Snake River Law with a clear vision: to build a family-first law firm focused on thoughtful estate planning, trust administration, and long-term client relationships. Today, his practice centers on helping clients protect their assets, avoid unnecessary court involvement, and create estate plans that work in real life—not just on paper.

Mark’s wife, Sara, and their children—Maren, Thomas, Evie, and Josh—are his greatest motivators and the inspiration behind Snake River Law’s people-centered approach.
